Most likely, this is due to an unavailable OpenVPN server or a blocked connection to AnonOpenVPN.exe. This error can occur while using both UDP and TCP mode of OpenVPN.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If this is the first time you have seen this error, restart the Anonymizer Universal client:\n<ul>\n<li>Right-click the Anonymizer Universal icon in the system tray located in the lower right-hand corner by the clock.<\/li>\n<li>Select \u201cExit\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Double click on the Anonymizer Universal icon on the desktop or select Anonymizer Universal from \u201cAll Programs\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Then click \u201cConnect\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If the error is seen as a result of AnonOpenVPN.exe being blocked, you may need to allow this program in your firewall or Security Suite.\n<ul>\n<li>Open your Firewall or Security Suite and select \u201cAllow\u201d for \u201cAnonOpenVPN\u201d under \u201cApplications\u201d or \u201cPrograms\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Please see the Firewall sections to the left for more details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>This error can be resolved by switching the protocol being used by Anonymizer Universal. Use any of the options below:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Option 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To change connection methods, please insure Anonymizer Universal is not connected.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the \u201cAnonymizer Universal\u201d icon. (If already open with failed connection attempt click \u201cCancel\u201d)<\/li>\n<li>Click the Settings to expand the menu.<\/li>\n<li>Locate the \u201cConnection Method\u201d drop down field.<\/li>\n<li>Select OpenVPN \u2013 TCP. (All of the connection methods offer the same 256-bit encryption.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Option 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To change connection methods, please insure Anonymizer Universal is not connected.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the \u201cAnonymizer Universal\u201d icon.
