Preface<\/h1>\n

To ensure your software firewall is not blocking Anonymizer Universal, please configure your Windows 7 firewall connection so it will allow the Anonymizer Universal connection. To do so, follow these steps.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Step 1<\/h1>\n

Click on \u201cStart.\u201d

Step 2<\/h1>\n

Then on \u201cControl Panel.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

If in \u201cCategory\u201d<\/strong> view, switch to one of the icon views.

Step 3<\/h1>\n

Open the \u201cWindows Firewall.\u201d

Step 4<\/h1>\n

Select \u201cAllow a program or Feature through Windows Firewall.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please note: If you are using a third party firewall in addition to or in place of the Windows firewall or see the message, \u201cThese settings are being managed by vendor application,\u201d<\/strong> configure the other firewall. Look for your firewall application for configuration instructions above. If your firewall or security suite is not found, email Technical Support for assistance. If you are using a router, see the as this may also require configuration.

Step 5<\/h1>\n

Look for Anonymizer Universal in the \u201cAllowed Programs and Features:\u201d<\/strong> list. If it is there, it must have a check in its box to be exempt from the Firewall. If checked, click \u201cOK\u201d<\/strong> and close the \u201cControl Panel.\u201d

Step 6<\/h1>\n

If not in the list, click \u201cChange settings,\u201d<\/strong> then \u201cAllow another program\u2026\u201d<\/strong> (see above)

Step 7<\/h1>\n

If Anonymizer Universal is listed in the \u201cAdd a Program\u201d<\/strong> window, click on it to highlight and click \u201cAdd.\u201d<\/strong> If it is not listed, use the \u201cBrowse\u201d<\/strong> button to locate Anonymizer Universal.exe.

Step 8<\/h1>\n

If using \u201cBrowse,\u201d<\/strong> locate Anonymizer Universal, click \u201cOpen,\u201d<\/strong> then \u201cAdd.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Step 9<\/h1>\n

Anonymizer Universal will be added to \u201cPrograms and Services\u201d<\/strong> and will be checked. Click \u201cOK\u201d<\/strong> close the \u201cWindows Firewall\u201d<\/strong> then close the \u201cControl Panel.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/section>\n
