This could be because one of the network devices (for example, firewalls, NAT, routers) between your computer and the remote server is not configured to allow VPN connections.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"step\">\n<h1>Resolution<\/h1>\n<p>Please follow the instructions below.<\/p>\n<p>These errors are received when the L2TP\/IPsec connection to Anonymizer Universal\u2019s servers is lost or blocked. Begin by clicking <strong>\u201cTry Again\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click on the little orange box with an \u201cA\u201d in your Mac or Windows status bar<\/li>\n<li>Select the settings drop down<\/li>\n<li>Click on the <strong>\u201cCheck for Updates\u201d<\/strong> button<\/li>\n<li>If an update in available, please download and install the update<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>\u201cConnect\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Check for any updates to Anonymizer Universal.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click on the little orange box with an \u201cA\u201d in your Mac or Windows status bar<\/li>\n<li>Select the settings drop down<\/li>\n<li>Click on the <strong>\u201cCheck for Updates\u201d<\/strong> button<\/li>\n<li>If an update in available, please download and install the update<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>\u201cConnect\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Follow these steps to ensure you have all the services properly enabled.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click on the <strong>\u201cStart\/Windows\u201d<\/strong> icon and open the <strong>\u201cControl Panel\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>\u201cAdministrative Tools\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>\u201cServices\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Double-click each of the following Services and set to <strong>\u201cAutomatic\u201d <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>IKE Services (Windows Vista\u00ae and Windows 7\u00ae only) (Set to \u201cAutomatic\u201d).<\/li>\n<li>If the service is not started, click <strong>\u201cStart\u201d<\/strong> to start the service.<\/li>\n<li>IPSEC Services (Set to \u201cAutomatic\u201d).<\/li>\n<li>If the service is not started, click <strong>\u201cStart\u201d<\/strong> to start the service.<\/li>\n<li>Double-click each of the following Services and set to <strong>\u201cManual\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Remote Access Connection Manager (Set to <strong>\u201cManual- cannot be disabled\u201d<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<li>If the service is not started, click <strong>\u201cStart\u201d<\/strong> to start the service.<\/li>\n<li>Telephony (Set to <strong>\u201cManual- cannot be disabled\u201d<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li>Restart your computer and connect to <strong>\u201cAnonymizer Universal\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that your firewall is configured to allow Anonymizer Universal, as this is the most common cause of the types of errors listed above.\n<ul>\n<li>Begin by adding \u201cuniversal.fsqsvctj.shop\u201d as a Trusted Network within your Firewall, and Anonymizer Universal as an allowed program within the <strong>\u201cProgram Control.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>If you have the option to unblock certain ports, please ensure that port 500, 4500, 1701, and 1702 are open for incoming and outgoing UDP traffic to the universal.fsqsvctj.shop domain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please see <a href=\"http:\/\/anonymizer.jacobtyler.com\/support\/troubleshooting\/hardware-firewall\/\" title=\"Hardware Firewall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Firewall-Hardware<\/a> for more specific instructions.<\/p>\n<p>Please keep in mind that some routers have firewalls as well. If you continue to receive an error after configuring your software firewall, please see <a href=\"http:\/\/anonymizer.jacobtyler.com\/support\/troubleshooting\/hardware-firewall\/\" title=\"Hardware Firewall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Firewall-Hardware<\/a> for an example of a hardware firewall configuration.<\/p>\n<p>This error can also be resolved by switching the connection method being used by Anonymizer Universal. Use any of the options below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Option 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To change connection methods, please insure Anonymizer Universal is not connected.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the \u201cAnonymizer Universal\u201d icon.
