If you click on a link in an email that takes you to a known phishing site, Anonymizer will alert you to the danger by displaying a warning page. If you wish, you may proceed to the site by clicking the Continue button on the page. However, this is not recommended as many phishing sites may also infect your computer with spyware.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"strong\">Anti-Pharming<\/span><br \/>When this indicator light is green, your Anonymizer anti-pharming protection is active. Anonymous Surfing protects you against <span class=\"tooltip\" title=\"Hosts File Pharming::A malicious practice where your computer is hijacked by an outside source. Without protection, each time you visit a Web site, you run the risk of being redirected to bogus sites that collect personal information like logins and passwords that can be used in criminal activities.\">Hosts File Pharming<\/span> and <span class=\"tooltip\" title=\"DNS Cache Poisoning::A practice where an attacker exploits a flaw in the DNS (Domain Name Server) software that can make it accept incorrect information. When you try to access a site that has been identified as dangerous by Anonymous Surfing, your browser will display a warning page. You may proceed from this page to the site, with an option to filter out any potentially malicious content.
