Nyms operate by creating a customized email address alias (a Nym) using the Nyms software. To begin, simply click on “Create a Nym.” You can create any name that will appear in the following format . You will be asked to enter Your Nyms email Address. This is the convenient personal email address all your Nyms will be routed to.

Once you have created a Nym, you can give that alias email address to any Web site or person that you think may send you Spam or give your email address to other untrustworthy parties. The response to the Nyms address will then be routed to the email address that you designate.

If you receive spam from a Nym, the name of the Nym it was sent to will be included in the text of the email. You can then click on “Disable this Nym” in the text of the email or go to “Manage My Nyms” in the software and disable that Nym so you will no longer receive that spam.

If you wish to send an Anonymous email using a Nym, you can choose to use that feature in the Nyms Web site. Please note that Anonymizer reserves the right to monitor anonymous emails for abuse.

Please send an email from the Nyms Web site to another email address that is not the designated email address your Nyms are routed to. Please note, it is not possible to send an email from a Nym to a Nym or from a Nym to the personal email address you have designated. This creates a circular loop that may cause a significant delay or keep the traffic from reaching the destination you have requested.

No, when you mark these emails as Spam you are actually reporting the nyms.net domain as Spam. This increases the chance of Nyms then being caught in a Spam filter and possibly being blocked entirely.

No. As Nyms is a re-routing service we do not maintain records of Sent Mail. If you use the Nyms Web site or the software there will not be a record of the Anonymous email messages sent unless you send a copy of the message to your personal email address. These messages are not saved on our server.

It is not possible to completely delete a Nym as this would create a security risk if the Nym name ( ) was duplicated by another customer in the future. If this were to happen, they would receive your email from that Nym. To avoid this security risk, any unwanted “Nyms” are simply disabled instead.

Click on “Preferences” and “Update” and enter the email address to receive your Nyms. You will then receive a confirmation email to this address that you will need to click on before you are able to use Nyms.

Different Nyms alias addresses cannot be set up as different email accounts. If your primary email address is set up in Outlook, you can set up rules to sort each Nyms address to a different folder.
