Anonymizer Universal\u2122Windows Platform<\/span><\/p>\n Preferences & Updates<\/i>The following explanations will help you determine the personal preferences for your Windows machine when using Anonymizer Universal.<\/p>\n Preferences Setup Update Schedule Setup About Screen <\/p>\n Preferences Setup<\/p>\n Check this box to automatically connect to the Anonymizer Universal servers when the software opens. This will automatically \u201cConnect\u201d<\/b> the software when you open the program.<\/p>\n Launch at Windows StartupTop \u2191<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n Check this box to have the Anonymizer Universal application launch automatically when you start your computer. This will start the program and prompt you to \u201cConnect\u201d<\/b> the software.<\/p>\n Please Note:<\/b> If both boxes, \u201cLaunch at Windows startup\u201d<\/b> and \u201cConnect automatically\u201d<\/b> are checked, the program will automatically open and connect to the servers when you start your computer.<\/p>\n If both boxes, \u201cLaunch at Windows startup\u201d<\/b> and \u201cConnect automatically\u201d<\/b> are unchecked, you will need to first \u201cOpen\u201d<\/b> and \u201cConnect\u201d<\/b> the software to connect to the Anonymizer Universal servers.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n Check this box to have the Anonymizer Universal application log the connections to the Anonymizer Universal servers with more detailed information regarding the connection. This setting is helpful in cases of repeated connection attempts or errors. It is suggested to enable this prior to contacting Support as it will provide critical information regarding the point at which the connection is being blocked. This log does NOT record your personal IP address, the IP address issued by Anonymizer, or any online activity conducted on your computer. Select \u201cView log\u201d<\/b> to see the exact information contained.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Update Schedule Setup<\/p>\n Click \u201cCheck Now\u201d<\/b> to ensure you are using the current version of the Anonymizer Universal software.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Click \u201cChange update schedule\u201d<\/b> from \u201cPreferences\u201d<\/b> and launch the InstallAware Wizard for Anonymizer Universal Updates.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n Select \u201cYes\u201d<\/b> when prompted by the User Account Control.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n Click \u201cNext\u201d<\/b> to continue.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n Choose your preferred Notification Settings for your Anonymizer Universal updates. If you would like to keep the software updated (recommended), please make sure that \u201cKeep my computer up to date. Check for updates:\u201d<\/b> is checked.<\/p>\n You can then select when you would like the software to check for updates. In addition, you can also choose whether you would like to be notified before downloading and installing the updates. When you have made these selections, click \u201cNext.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n <\/div>\n Enter your Windows computer account \u201cUsername\u201d<\/b> and \u201cPassword.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n Please Note:<\/b> If you do not enter your password, you will not be able to check for updates automatically.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
